Just picked up my new "double thumper" and love it. It's Red. Damage Control is not too happy but I am. I have a 2008 R1200RT but wanted to do a little light trail riding. I am looking at windshields for touring but cannot see the value in the BMW touring windshield. $470 plus without tax. I have a Ztech V stream on my RT and really like it. They are supposed to have one out for theF650GS2 by mid Jan. Any other suggestions?

Also looking at the Ecoocase or Coocase "breadbox" top case sold by Twisted Throttle. Any experiance with this brand out there?
Thanks, Jack:dance

I have the same bike and color. The stock windscreen was so tiny. I never even road with it. I slapped on a tall on from Givi. It has a good bubble of protection from wind and bugs. I have recently picked up and S48 Coocase. A smaller unit would have been idea for others, but I want maximum space. It seems to be well constructed, but I have no point of reference. It is my first. Hopefully all my junk won't be laying in the road or on the trail after the first big bump.

The windscreen from the F800gs is a bolt for bolt replacement. Much taller and much better. But the better bargain is from Tour Tech

Rode with the new Cee Baileys Euro-18 inch. It needs another inch or two in hieght and 2inches in width at the top. !8X14 is the max sold. I would give it an OK but not rave about it. I am 5'10" and 235#. Love the bike! New Barkbusters handguards should be here tomarrow. I will let you know. Best farkle so far that I use daily is the BMW vario topcase or bread box as we used to call them.

Touratech screen in 1/2 the cost of BMW. Same mounting screws as stock screen. Simple.
Jesse Cases. The best. see www.xplorermoto.com

Time to get all this snow melted so I can ride mine. Keep a weather eye pealed for bad battery. Battery on mine died after less than two months - shorted cell. Seems there was a bad batch delivered to BMW.

Mad,

The seat height of the factory lowered suspension F650GS twin is 30.1 inches. Try to get from your dealer the small pamphlet published by BMW called the "Low Seat Guide" that lists all the dimension specs for BMW motorcycle models with lowering options.

It does not give the weight, but I expect that can be found on the BMW motorcycles website.
