Oops, need a K1100rs windshield

My '93 K1100rs had an aftermarket windshield that was smoke color, and about 3'' taller than stock I'd guess. It had a stop drilled crack in it when I got the bike, and lasted just fine until I whacked it with my arm walking through the garage!! :cry So now I am trying to decide how to replace it with same or maybe something better. I mostly ride the freeway commute 100 mi round trip, and would like the wind protection of a well designed part. Has anyone got a suggestion for one that works for them? :D KC

I've had good results with polycarbonate (Lexan etc) of the proper thickness. People who build/work on race cars & airplanes are candidates. A good plastics shop may also come through, but some only sell not implement. Good Hunting... <<<)))

The windshield you describe was sold by Luftmeister, who is now long gone Gustaffson Screen and Plastics makes what appears to be an exact duplicate.

I was wondering what company made the one I broke. To bad they are gone, because it worked fairly well. I will try contacting the new people. I have thought of trying to make one, as it is a basic flat part on a K1100rs, with a simple bend at the top, no compound curves. I did check the aeroflow site.... SHOCK! $325 for that model, if I got that right. Wow, I will be more careful with the next one! KC

Parabellum makes (made?) a nice screen for the K1xxxRS series. Not cheap either but it comes in several heights...

Tried the Gustaffson site the other day, and it may be broken, or just not listing the older bike stuff???? I will have to try calling them some time, the 3 hr time change keeps messing with that plan. KC
