I've looked thru just about every thing and can not find where to register for the rally. Can you register at the camp ground and then go downtown or do you have to register at the downtown location?:dunno I keep using this symbol 'cause it fits.

Whether you have pre-registered or not, rally registration will be located in the civic center only. Ample paved parking and air conditioned. Signs will direct you there from the main roads.

So if we pre-register, we still need to check-in at the Civic Center before heading to the camping locations to setup camp?

There are two answers to your question. First, if you arrive between 8:00 AM and sunset, you have to go to registration at the civic center first. Security will not allow persons without wristbands to enter and roam the campgrounds. Second, for the few who arrive at an hour that falls outside of the hours that registration is open (and they are camping), they can go directly to the campground of their choice and set up. Security will take care of them for that evening only. They must come to register the next day at the civic center

This may be redundant - didn't see another thread, or ....
Registration is at the Civic Center:
Parking is free across the street, but wristband is needed. OK. But, the wristband is after registration (duh).

Otherwise, the pre-registration parking is a $3 fee in the Civic Center deck? So, to get started, parking is a fee, correct? Any street parking, or? :dunno

Not a big deal, just trying to get a lay of the land to know where to park initially on arrival.

See you there.

There is free registration parking adjacent to the Civic Center, in the Civic Center's own lot. This is separate from the parking that is arranged for the other Civic Center activities. Signs will direct you to the very obvious parking area. You can't miss it. Look for all the other bikes.

So if a buddy of mine wants to drop by to check things out just for Sat. afternoon he will have to pay the whole fee. Is there such thing as a day pass?

Correct, There are no day passes at the rally. Or another way of looking at it, day passes are $35.

We plan on reaching Charleston on Wednesday evening, will we be allowed to camp for the night and then proceed with registration early Thursday morning ?

The usual procedure for those campers who arrive after the Registration area is closed for the night is as follows.

We will permit you to enter the camping area and set up your tent for the night without a wrist band. The next morning when you leave the camp area, you must go to Registration to get your wristband to be permitted back onto the camp ground to get back to your tent or to attend any of the Rally events.
