I've been looking for a way to increase lighting/visibility on my 95r100rt without plowing a bunch money into the effort, times being what they are. I could not understand why the H4 bulb was so dim on this bike. I had a few oilheads and their H4s were very bright.

I ordered a H4 headlight relay from Eastern Beaver. Took about 15 minutes to install, no mods. Whoa Nelly! The headlight is now up to seizure-inducing & ticket-getting brightness.

It would be easy to make up a relay kit with a couple of weather proof headlight relays and some custom wiring, but the Eastern Beaver kit is the lazy man's answer to the problem.

Glad you improved your headlight output. What was the wattage of the lamp you installed? Some the lamps that are available can overload the wiring, at least on the older airheads.

I put one of those Eastern Beaver relay kits on my 84 R100RT, run an 80/85 Osram bulb, and yeah, light output is substantially improved.

I worry a little about that bulb given the fairing enclosed headlight and all the other sensitive stuff in there, but I've put on about 1K miles without incident (Famous last words, I know). I may change it out for a stock wattage Raybrig - those things cost more than gold but they're by far the best H4 bulbs I've found (and I've tried a slew of them).

Actually, I stayed with the stock H4 bulb. I didnt even think about installing a higher wattage bulb.
