Can this combination of objects be captured? Of course but can mere mortal photographers capture the conjunction?

Maybe some of our photographers where there are clear skies in December can capture the event. My area is expecting snow. :dunno

Not very good, but gives you an idea of what it looks like on Sunday evening.

The next one was exposed a bit more to see what the eye can't quite see.

Started shooting right at sundown and shot several while sky was still sort of light, then a few more after totally dark. These are the best two of the bunch shot with a Canon Rebel XSi with a 55-250 lens zoomed all the way in.

Marchyman. You say "not very good." On the contrary, all the images are outstanding in my opinion. Nice work to you and Cruisin!

WOW - impressive - most impressive. The sky here was clouded over so this is the first I have seen the sky show. Thanks for the post.
