After the rally, I'm thinking of going to Yellowstone. I went through there on my K75RT about four years ago, and the roads were the pits. I was afraid of breaking something like a bag mount. Has anyone been through in the last year or so? How were the roads?

June 15th. Construction on the East side from Tower Junction going South, some said it was dirt but the paper you get going into the park says the EAST SIDE IS CLOSED.
Tower junction - Mammoth Hot Springs- West Yellowstone, OK sometimes not smooth.

The roads I were on last fall were fine to me...but I was on my GS. The roads in the worst shape were closed for construction.

On the news this evening:

Chip sealing project to begin July 12, will run about ten days, will cause 30 min delays (and make for ugly riding) on the stretch of road between Old Faithful and Madison Junction.

Frank,

I visited last summer. Before departure, I found the most up-to-date information is at YNP's website:

http://www.nps.gov/yell/home.htm

Start with "Road Closures" on the home page and go from there.

BTW, if Beartooth Pass is open, it's a great ride!
