Hey all, I'm slowly working towards making my R75/6 more distance worthy/all-weather. Question - is anyone using an aftermarket windshield and/or handguards they are liking? I'm not looking for anything huge or super costly. Just something to help keep the blast off during winter or at slab speeds. Thanks.:)

Heck yes. I just whipped these bad boys up last week. I've got about 400 miles on 'em.

Hah! Drummer, I love it. Wish I'd seen those before I shelled out $50.00 for a BMW pair today. Genius indeed (whistlin' 'ya might be an airhead if... )

:whistle

Awesome dude. I'm reaching for the Foster's oil cans, sporks and JB Weld (I know, fancy bastard) as we speak. Assuming that fails:banghead , who makes some that work well? Annapolis, you mentioned BMWs for $50...was that for a GS or something?

Got a pair for $31 (including shipping) from Chicago BMW (takes a while)

Have ridden my R80 in temps to mid 30s without having to turn on the heated grips. Rides were less than one hour though....

Even kind of blends in with the looks of the S Fairing I put on her this summer.

I just got the same ones co_30g got. First set 'seemed' like they would fit from memory, but didn't. I rode the bike up to Bob's to return them and htey ended up finding a pair that fit (I think they were for an r80st, but I have an 83 R100T). So, if he paid $31 at Chicago, $53 at Bob's is about par for Bob's course. Ugh...at least they had what I wanted, in stock and are close to me, so I'll rationalize that that makes it worth $20. :banghead

Those look fine. I had some similar on a '96 Triumph Trident. Did you ask for a specific handguard?

I love your outside-the-milkjug thinking! You now have an airhead with 4 jugs.:thumb

And to think I was going to waste money on hand guards or hippo hands.

yep: 71609062160, one correction though, it was $32 including shipping, local beemer dealer wanted $42 (retail: $47)

re chicagobmw, I'd heard sometimes they take a while to get what your ordered, in this case it took over two weeks.....so if you're in a rush....

the jugs work, I woke up on clear spring wisconsin morning,in the early 80's had 90 miles to ride (on an unfaired honda cb400f) stepped outside and it was 22 degrees(it had been in the fifties when I rode there)finished the milk in the fridge and grabbed a jug out of the trash.... put on all the clothes I had with me and duct taped on the jugs. got a lot off experience that day(thats what you get when you get something you didn't want)
