Hello, this is my first post on this forum. I did attempt a search but did not find any results.

Does anyone know of an engine guard that will work on a K75S (1994). I am in the process of purchasing one and am researching options.

Coming back to BMWs and motorcycles after a short hiatus. Looking forward to riding!
Thank you in advance for your assistance.

BMW made engine guards for the K75RT, and also for the K75 standards (which would also fit the S). However the standard S belly pan precludes the use of the engine guards. I do have a K75 standard that came with a belly pan and engine guards. The pan had special cutouts for the guards and was a royal PIA to remove/replace for oil changes. You had to unbolt the right guard completely, and then work the cutouts of the pan around the bottom of the left guard. In the process you would use a colorful vocabulary, and put nicks and scratches on the edges of the pan.

A while back a car hit me on this bike on a slick street and it went down on the left side. The engine guards on a K-bike are rubber mounted, and the impact tore it off like it wasn't there. From what I could see it gave little or no additional protection. The cut-out belly pan got damaged, so I replaced it with the standard K75S type and forgot about the guards. IMHO they are only good for very low speed parking lot tip overs.
