K1200LT shifting problems

Just wondering if anybody has had a problem with the shifter on a k1200lt. Was working great never a problem went to shift it today and the shifter is lose and will not go in any gear thank you

Yes, this is a common problem with the LT. One of the ball joints studs has broken. You will have to remove the left side foot peg cover to access the linkage. This linkage requires regular lubrication and inspection to insure that none of the ball studs have worked loose. A ton of info about this on the www.bmwlt.com website.
