Can I support the R1200R by placing a (wooden) support under the engine to keep the front wheel up? I have a centerstand which I plan to use while raising the front wheel via a support under the engine block. I have not been able to find a front wheel lift for the R1200R.

I use an old auto scissor jack with a small block of wood to protect the engines bottom. You could just block it up with a stack of wood too, the jack just makes it easier to adjust. I've seen some people use a small strap to secure the center stand to ensure it does not fold up unexpectedly while your working on the bike.

here's what i use. http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=2792 very stable, able to work on either end of the bike, or even both ends at the same time. Only thing it won't let me do is fully support the bike by ONLY the engine, which is what is needed for doing input shaft spline work (my next headach).
