O2 Sensor

Looks like my O2 sensor has gone bad. How long should these last and how much am I looking at for a replacement?

(2002 K1200RS with 52k miles.)

Their life varies tremendously. How did you decide it is bad?

Gas milage was down. Read that a bad sensor could be the cause. Pulled the sensor and compared the coloring of the probe to the shop book, which said the probe was contaminated and should be replaced.

Already replaced the probe ($$$) and waiting to see if the milage goes back up.

Milage is up to where it's suppose to be, so I guess the sensor was the problem.
