On our 1996 R 1100 R we have a small bmw windshile that mounts under one of the handlebar bolts on each side and then is bolted up under the handle bar itself on each side with one screw. We are putting on bar back blocks which we have already figured out how to space the top braces at the windshile and such.
What our problem is is when you ROTATE the controls on the handlebars brake and clutch lever so they are comfortable to you (some people like the levers lower others higher) ; When you rotate the throttle and the assembley on the right bar down it hits this brace on the windshield and wont let it go down as far as I would like it to go. Anyone ever bent or altered these windshiled braces to where you could turn these controls more. I believe the actual part that hits first is the res. for the brake MC. The left controls don t have an issue just the right but I would assume you would definately have to do both braces in matching alterations to keep the windshiled right.
Any tips on this
Any pros and cons on bar back blocks on these or the RT I think they are the same handlebars???
