How does the K75S (1987) chassis wire harness past from the front end of the gas tank to the front head light ? I had to replace my complete harness and did not note the correct pathway though the steering stem. There is a large half rounded grommet on the harness near the end that must attach somewhere that also alludes me. :dunno

Several individual bundles lie along the horizontal fame piece to the steering head on the right side of the bike, and then go up to the cluster.
The main bundle to the fairing front loops inside the fairing on the left side.
I couldn't spot the grommet but it must go at a hole or slot in the fairing plastic some place.

Do you know if the left harness side passes between the front forks or to the outter left ? There is a bend in the harness that inplies to me that it passes on the faring side of the left front fork and not between the front forks.

GlenI'm not Paul, but I did replace the harness on my '87 K75S - you're correct. The harness makes a rather sharp left turn and goes along the lower inside edge of the fairing after exiting under the tank. It does not go between the fork tubes.
The minor wires and wires up to the bars do go between the forks, and loop up to the bars and the small switch panel. They come up either side of the steering head.
