Has anyone used the tailblazer halogen bulbs to replace the stock bulbs? Do any problems occur with the electrical system? Are there any other options for a brake flasher setup that keeps the stock look?

Can't speak as to an '08 RT, but Kisan Tailblazer works fine on my '07 R (which uses a single dual filament bulb - the Tailblazer has two small halogens that replace it.) Make sure it's listed as CanBus compatible, or "type-Z" (same thing..)

I run a TailBlazer bulb in my '05 R1200RT. Only the left-side socket activates the TailBlazer.
I put both in at first, but only the left-side actually flashes with CanBUS.
I saved the other bulb as a spare.
Only complaint to date is longevity and cost. First TailBlazer bulb lasted only a little over a year; second one now in there.
And wow....quite expensive. Will probably go with super-bright LED bulbs once I have exhaused the TailBlazers, for the above stated reasons.

I had them on my 2007 RT and had to return them. They made the Dash Yellow Triangle to appear. Very annoying and distracting. Anything that draws my attention from the road to the Dash isn't worth having.

Likewise added the tailblazer bulb in my 2005 1200 GS. No Canbus trouble but the flashings are not quick..very slow flashes when braking and not as bright as the standard OEM bulb. Discontinued it at great expense....:dunno

I to, run the Tailblazers on my '07 RT. I've had one warning light occurence with them in place, which was resolved by shutting down for half a minute and restarting. It happened when I arrived home, shut down to get my garage door remote out of the locked radio/glove box and restarted quickly. Not a problem since. They work well.

I have the flasher bulbs in my '07 RT taillight. The yellow triangle flashes when I hit the brakes, so I know the bulb is operational and flashing. I put in a modulator on the high beam and when the bulb modulates, I see the warning in the display with the forward arrow. Once again I know the system is working. I am glad to have feed back that the optional additional warning systems are working. I also added a run-n-light license plate bracket with three 2 x 4 LED arrays that have the two outer sets modulate when the brakes are applied.

This was in the newsletter I got from MAX BMW (http://www.maxbmwmotorcycles.com) a couple of days ago. I can't find it in their online catalog but I'm going to take a ride up there tomorrow to look at it. If I like it and the price is reasonable it will probably be on my '06 RT by the end of the weekend.

NEW: LED Supplemental Tail Light for CAN BUS bikes
Now you can supplement your stock tail light with this super-bright LED array designed specifically for post-2005 BMW models. The light mounts directly onto the license plate bracket with included hardware and activates when the brakes are applied; flashing quickly four times then remaining lit in a super-bright steady state until the brakes are released. The lighting area is 1" x 4.25" and is comprised of two rows of high-intensity LED modules; 16 modules in all. This is a BMW part, not an aftermarket product, so CAN BUS compatibility is assured. If you're not sure if your bike is equipped with CAN BUS, please call our parts department for assistance.

I rode up to MAX BMW in Troy this morning to look at the CAN BUS compatible LED brake light. They didn't have it in stock but I got some information. You need to buy the light unit and a harness. The harness is bike specific and plugs into the existing wiring. The light is $129, the harness for my '06 RT is $39. Light part number 63000445578, '06 RT harness 610004455579.
I plan on getting one but since I'll be in and out of town for the next three weeks I didn't order it today. Had it been in stock I'd be putting it on my bike right now.

This is not for Can-Bus Bikes like most good stuff out there, good idea however.

I hooked a set of tailblazers into the wiring harness behind the taillight of my can bus 07 GS, no problems after 10k miles

I would be very interested in one of these lights for my own R 1200 RT if it is trully Can-Bus friendly. Could you post a mini review of the product after you install it ?

Please parson my ignorance. What is CanBus? I assume it is part of the electrical system and is a protection system.
I have an '06 GS Adventure, so I assume it is a CanBus bike. ???
Anyone have an opinion on Hiper Lites versus this light that Charlie K has found as to which is brighter?
