Winter Mileage Contest?

What happened to the proposed 'Winter mileage contest"? Did it ever procede past the "great idea' stage?
I'd be interested in any feedback anyone could provide.

At the National Rally the board "approved" the issue by deferring to the Forum leaders.

The Bavarian Black Ice Ride (BBIR) will make its appearance Wednesday October 1st. I won’t go into detail at this time because.

The concept was formally presented to the BoD at their July meeting. They support the idea and hope for it to be a success. It is not yet a formally sanctioned BMW MOA event but a work in progress.

The BBIR will have an overall mileage rollup similar to the current BMW MOA mileage contest. This will allow people on their own, to slice and dice numbers as they will. It is open to all BMW MOA members and all their motorcycles.

I will also have several classes. These have two main purposes. To give a format that allows people to see how they do in comparison to other riders with similar goals. Secondly to help people find similar riders within the community and hopefully develop communication for a variety of reasons.

The first year this will be generally forum based to allow for development and testing of things in the back of the house. In the future it will include online registration, more promotion and hopefully will become an ongoing BMW MOA event.
