Help, my R1200RT instrument lens cover has water spots on the inside.
It happened during one of my last rides in a heavy down pour.
How difficult is it to remove the cover (lens) and clean it and reseal it?
The bike is a 2007 with 26k miles. :dunno

Be very careful. The interior is treated with a coating to reduce fogging. You may want to just leave it alone or consult a dealer.

Thanks for pointing this out.
Is there a way to renew this coating?
Apparently the gasket for this lens is available by itself, but you should be able to clean this lens from the inside.

Not that I'm aware of. Attempting to clean the inside can create a mess requiring removal of the coating.
Knowing this I would ask a reputable dealer how to handle such a task.

Isn't the bike still under warranty? Let the dealer figure it out.
