Ok so I so I tipped the bike over:doh
Anyway luckily no harm done. I managed to catch it and it just leaned on the right cyl. head. I have the plastic protectors on it so no damage whatsoever.
I saw some oil dripping down directly on top of the cat, sort of rear engine, transmission area while it was tipped over.
At first I could not see where this oil had come from but with lots of searching I found oil around the clutch slave cyl. It is really difficult to see up there so my question is
has anyone else seen this and is the oil from the trans. breather? Or does the transmission have an oil leak which came out because the bike tipped?
Thanks!

Probably from the breather!

Clean it up thoroughly and keep an eye on the likely area. You probably won't find a leak, but it is worth checking.

Also keep an eye on the valve cover for a little while. Tip overs sometimes cause the valve cover gasket to leak. I'm not sure if the protectors keep all the pressure off the valve cover or not, so keep an eye on this till you are satisfied it is OK.

They all smell very different. Tranny Gear oil is the most obnoxious and a dead givaway. Motor oil is fairly common smell too. The clutch slave uses mineral oil, at least most new ones do. Give it the smell test:). Randy:thumb

Thanks guy's, I found out that it's trans oil.
Looking at the cd repair manual It looks like it has to be from the breather as there is no seal that high up that could leak down on top of the clutch cyl.
I have cleaned it off with brake clean and will monitor it.
Thanks, Steve
