Some of you know I picked up an '87 K75S and wasn't sure about the maintenance history. As I've gone thru changing fluids, draining and replacing anti-freeze, spline lube, brake bleed, checked & cleaned air filter I felt reassured seeing green dots by the drain plugs, air cleaner, shocks, steering head and brake bleeds.
I've never seen sharpee marks on my F650 when it was serviced at the BMW or Independent dealer- is there a "code or legend" behind this? To me it just gave me the peace of mind knowing that someone was taking good care of the bike.
I'm very grateful to all of you who have provided me with so much valuable information on how to properly wrench the bike.
I've got a progressive 420 shock on order that fits my current budget and plan to drain & fill the front fork tubes with Honda 10W oil.
I'm still waiting on my "C" bars and heated grips from Bob's and hopefully will get some riding in before old man winter sets in.
I bought a new fuel filter but the one in the tank looks pretty new - should I just keep it in and hang on to the new one in case the exisiting one fails?
Special thanks to Gil in Florida for really going above and beyond to introduce himself as a fellow BMW enthusiast and photographer!!!
