My wife and I may be moving to Boston in the very near future. I am wondering what folks in the Northeast think of their riding season. I was looking forward to a warmer climate for the move (from Chicago originally), but work plans appear to have changed that...
Any insight is greatly appreciated.
Kindest Regards!

Some really beautiful riding in New England and upstate NY (Adirondack,Park) and along the shore, but the season is not appreciably longer than in Chicago.

Some may say the season is March through November, if you're not inclined to ride after the snow flies. I can't imagine the season is much different than Chicago, plenty of wind & snow in Boston too.

One of the fantastic riding things about New England is the varied destinations available. In one hour I can be in the city, by the seashore, farm country or Mountains.
I agree that the riding season will be consistent to what Chicago's was for you.

Thanks for the posts... I will have to buy some heated gear, for sure. Currently, I am in Arlington, VA and I have found that I enjoy the versatility of the area (mountains/bay, beach/ country roads).
Thanks again...

Chicago feels colder in the winter than Boston. I was stationed at Great Lakes NTC for 3 winters and lived in Boston the rest of my life.
The nearby ocean and Gulf Stream really tempers the climate on the coast. Of course, Boston is a windier city than Chicago, but we don't brag about it. :whistle
