We are going to the Smokeys 9/27 /08 and have found Pumpkin center. Has any one stayed there, they say they have creek side camping, which I like. Or is there a better place that any one can suggest. We will be in tents and may move every night we have no real plans. It will just be me(K12RS) and my wife(R11S) this is our first trip riding seperate and tenting. Im look for a resl experiance. We will hit Cherokee and Newfound Gap to Luittle river road and may see Ashville. Any tent camping in these locations will be helpfull

I've stayed at Punkin' Center. Nice place and friendly owners. I can't say much about the tent camping as we stayed in one of the "cabins". Overall, we had a good experience (apart from all the rain).

I was there last July, stayed in a cabin as well. Food was so-so/ok depending on what you order. Heard about the "stripper's pole" but no one was there to use it, which was fine by us. The owners were very nice, some of the other guests (bikers) were fairly crude, but they were just playing the part, I'm sure they don't talk that way when their kids/grandkids are around.................

Phil and Leslie at Blue Ridge Motorcycle Campgoround are very nice and I have stayed there mulitple times. They also have a nice river that runs around the camping area which is great to listen to when you fall asleep.
Make sure to get some pancakes for breakfast.....1 is all you will need.
O yes.....some great rides all around the campground.
