Had a great ride into work this morning. Put the liner into my TourMaster jacket, changed out the fingerless gloves for gloves with fingers...
crisp air, bike ran strong... leaves are begining to change...
Went for a three state ride on Saturday, me on the K75, my wife on her 650 Ninja and caught up with a friend on his new FG650. Northern Massachusetts via route 8a, up into Vermont and Zoar park then along route 100 down into Williamstown, over to route 22 in New York and home.
a quick 200 miles for lunch and therapy. ahhhhhhhhh. :dance

I love Autumn, it is IMHO the best season here in the Midwest.
In a word, crisp.

Ah, yes fall that all important time of year for riding.... seems a poem would be appropriate, don't you?
Hmmmmm. lets see... in keeping with timely events, how about....
Fall is in The Aire
a (really bad) poem by rocketman
(not to be taken seriously!!)
Fall is in the aire
And final drives are failing!
Fall is in the aire
And some members are still wailing!
Fall is in the aire
And temperments are heated!
Fall is in the aire
And all changes are defeated!
Fall is in the aire
And my final drive’s Still leaking!
Fall is in the aire
And the membership’s still freaking! (out)
Fall is in the aire
And I couldn’t give a sh*t!
My FD just exploded
Like some motorcycle zit!
Fall is in the aire
And my bike is all in pieces!
Fall is in the aire
Now a new ride I’ll be seeking!
Fall is in the aire
And a HD I’ll be owning!
Now I'm finally free
Of all that Bemmer bike bemoaning!
:laugh :laugh

That sounds like a cool relaxing ride. Weather in the Pacific Northwest has been unseasonably warm but dry, sunny & beautiful. I've become spoiled by the low 80's that we generally have in Oregon. I'm trying to make the most of this great weather while it lasts because the long rainy season is just around the corner.
I look forward to the Fall here so much I've scheduled an 11 day vacation the second week in October. I'm scrambling trying to get all the best locations for folliage photos during that time off. My R1200RT will get a fresh tune-up, tires & brakes nrxt week for the wet season. I have a new Kilamenjaro jacket on order as well. What fun!
Please post pics from some of your rides. It helps us all drool!

I'm leaving the heat and humidity of Florida this Thursday and riding up to Indianopolis, IN. with a friend. We hope to travel some of the backroads in the Smokies, enjoy the sights, and sample some BBQ along the way. :dance :usa

Going to Indy?
Consider this route from Frankfort, KY to the south side of Indy.

Next year could you use the word "autumn" in place of "fall?"

Autumn is definitely in the air down here in TexSux.
Highs have come down to a pleasant 90-ish!

Last week my daughter and I rode the green and somewhat "autumn tinted" mountains of western Maryland. On Tuesday morning the temp was a nippy 43 degrees F, chilly for her until I broke out some extra gear I had in the saddlebags. So, there was a fall bite in the air.
I've not seen her since 12-20-06, and she has had a tough couple of years since; divorce, break ups, job changes, financial difficulties, etc.
It was good to hang w/ her and put some mile under the R1200 ST, together. We rode through some beautiful countrysides, carved up some fine W. VA and MD roads. Met some very interesting folks, along the way. Had some very nice meals.:kbasa
I told her this was a momentous occasion, as she is now 30 and that was my age when she was born. Pictures to follow, if I can figure out how to up load.:dunno
It was a really great time to reconnect w/ her and to share the road, scenery, rest stops, conversation. We stayed at Wisp Resort on Deep Creek Lake.
Keep her in your thoughts, she's had a rough emotional season. I'm back in central GA, now chillin' and writing her a thank you letter.
Thx,
Len

Got back yesterday from Indianapolis, IN. What a nice time of year to ride up to IN from FL and travel back. Used Sat & Sun to explore some of the back roads south of Napolean down to Friendship and back to Indianapolis. I will return to this area next year as the scenery and roads were just great. The 240' monument in Victory Circle downtown Indianapolis is impressive and has an excellant Civil War Museum located beneath it. I can see buying a custom seat for my CLC in the next few months. The Airhawk cushion made an uncomfortable seat bearable for me and there were no problems with the bike at all during the trip.
