Am I the only one in the world that has trouble reinstalling the front seat after I take it off? No matter how careful I am, I don't slide it in correctly and while driving in slips down a little hopefully in the correct front slots. Is there a trick or after 46 years of motorcycling am I just getting stupid.

No, you're not getting stupid. The seat latching mechanism can be very frustrating. Wunderlich makes an after-market accessory that is supposed to make reattaching the seat much easier.

I'm new to the GSA but have already invented some new words when putting the seat back on...
I found that keeping both the rear latches lubed helps. That and take your time when putting the front rod into the holders. It helps to look at where the rod is going as you put the seat on. It's hard to see but it can be done. The biggest problem I found was my seat was very reluctant to latch at the rear even when the front was correctly alligned. A couple of shots of WD-40 on the latch springs made a world of difference both putting the seat on and taking it off. Turn the key, push down on the back of the seat till you hear the click, and off it comes.
That said I will probably get the Wunderlich parts as they seem like they will help with front allignment and the price is OK if it will help with the frustration.

Does this Wonderlick product work on 1200GS 2008 model as well?
