Then I would highly recommend that you attend one of the shows on his current tour. Just enjoyed him last night. Never saw the man (or the T-Heads) live before.
Show was great. Instead of one or two synth players, he is traveling with a drummer, bass, percussionist, and the Tosca Strings (4 violins and two cellos).
Great show with a good mix of his solo work along with a good representation of the Talking Heads music. You haven't lived until you hear "Psycho Killer" or "Blind" done with a string section. On more than one occasion, Mr Byrne rocks out on his gee-tar and the drums/percussion had the area in front of the stage packed with dancers for 2/3's of the show. (Grand Rapids people ain't known for their public displays of dancing!!)
The tour is continuing across the US for the rest of June, then over to Europe for a month, then he is coming back to Canada and the US for another month with 4-5 gigs a week.

check it out, Yo: www.DavidByrne.com

i'll second that. im not an official fan, and only know the names to a few songs and i caught his show here in austin with some friends last year or so. it was fantastic, and he had a nice mix of fans. people older than me, my age, and then a bunch that were younger. and the dude rocks. he's also got some good music for you to think about.

i know of two david byrne quotes that i think are great:

'if you wear the same clothes everyday, people will remember you better.'

'nuclear weapons could destroy all life on earth, if used properly.'

Saw the original 4 'Heads in '78 or '79 ( it's hard to remember some of those years! ) at the old Rec Hall at Penn State. That WAS memorable! Thanks for the tip...

One of my first dates with my future bride was a Talking Heads show on the Stop Making Sense tour in Saratoga.

A few years ago we went to Lupo's in Providence. It sounds like he is touring with the same configuration as a few years ago.

I knew he was going to be in New England but the planets didn't align. If you are on the fence I say go and have a great time.

Best,

Rob Nye
