The $700 unit, as I recall, is solid state - it doesn't use vacuum, it uses a cable and motor instead. Still doesn't justify the price difference between it and an Audiovox cruise control. I have used the Audiovox cruise control on my K1100LT, it works well but requires a little work (some silicon) to make it weatherproof and you'll need to obtain your own vacuum canister.

Thanks for bring this up again, I wanted a cruise control over a locked throttle.
Checked last night at PartsAmerica.com web site, approx $69 on the web site for CCS100. Went to my local store, they just shipped their last unit to another store earlier this week. I had them check other stores and they found one and will bring it down to me for $58 out the door price. I will be picking it up this afternoon.
This should make a nice winter project for me to look forward to when the snow is on the ground.
