I put a pair of Suburbans on the new '08 GS this afternoon, and while test riding noticed shifting is a little rougher, and sometimes hangs up on downshifts. Anybody else have experience with Suburbans on the GS?

I have them on my 07 GS 'non-A' and have had no such problems. No problems at all, except that the brake pedal won't adjust as far down as the peg went. Did you adjust your shift-lever to accomodate for the different peg-height?

I had the same issue, until I removed the shifter and moved it one click counterclockwise. That puts it back in the original position, relative to your foot. I have had no problems since then.

I did move the shifter down one notch, which is a tiny amount, but still causes the shifter to rub the sidestand spring. I'll keep playing with it a while before I give up. Never had a problem with them in five years on the LT, but different setup.

Where is it rubbing on the spring? Can you grind a little off the shifter lever where it makes contact in order to keep the location you want? At least thats what I ran into with an after market shifter I installed on my RT.
