I saw a thread about poping out of 2nd gear. Would the same issue apply for poping out of 1st gear? It does not happen often, but once in a while I will firmly press clutch, shift first and just whehn I release clutch thinking I am taking off, I am back to neutral.
Embarrassing to other drivers and fellow riders watching...just embarrassing! :blush

Kind of a K Bike trait, my 75S did that. If it doesn't feel like it's gone into first, release the clutch slowly and if it isn't in gear, pull in the clutch and should drop in then. Synthetic fluid in the trans does help this.

That's the answer I was hopingt get. I just did a relatievely quick 68 mike ride (from UCF area to Old Town, Kissimmee, Florida) and the ride on my K is such a joy that I would hate to think I may have to do any clutch spline lube or big tranny work. My clutch splines are not due for another 15,000 miles or so. I do my splines every 30,000 miles. The last time they were done, when they were checked, they were still covered in lube just like the shaft splines.
