This was actually discussed under the 1150rt Mirror thread, but I thought I would post this as another thread so those interested find it.

I too had this "sliding forward" sensation on my R1150RT seat, and I came up with this simple solution for raising the front of the seat up slightly. All you need is access to a bandsaw and a small piece of oak.

I started by making these. They are just a hair over a quarter inch thick.

Remove the four screws holding this gizmo in place, and find some that are 1/4 inch longer. They are metric, I think 5mm by 20, but don't quote me on that detail.

The 1/4 inch made all the difference for me, the nice thing is that you can make the thickness that works for you. Total time, maybe 1/2 hour. Metal would also work fine, but I have the tools for wood, and I figure the oak will outlast the bike.

That's totally cool. Thanks, Rich!

Or, for about twenty bucks you can buy a kit from Cycle Gadgets called Seat Jacks that includes similar pieces made of plastic or nylon and longer screws.

when I looked it over good, I would think you need to support the whole flat area, to prevent it from cracking out in the corners. Don't know, just my thought, I didn't want to be fixin in a year or so.

I bought the kit described by Mr. Frank. The kit has parts that can raise the front of the seat 1/4", 5/l6" or 3/8" . I tried 3/8", but the passenger seat would not hook up. I then tried 5/16" and the passenger seat would hook up. This position of the seat is better than standard but not perfect. I read on this forum under FAQ, a sugestion by Fernando Belair to alter the rear seat bumpers by a 1/4" to complement the front adjustment. I will try this next.

CORRECTION: The correct forum of FAQ was on BMW Sport Touring forum, not on BMW MOA. My mistake.
