Just got my new 2009 F650GS a few days ago.
Anyone has experience with BMW's tall windshiled for 2009 F650GS.
It is standard on F800GS. The standard SMALL windshield on F650GS is minimum and at above 55mph has little protection from wind.
There is also a touring windshield for F650GS, but I can't find any pciture.
If anyone can find a picture please let me know.
The part number for tall windshield is: #71 60 7 713 833
The part number for touring windshield is: #71 60 7 863 059, $321.40 !!
mounting kit for touring windshield: 71 60 7 701 957, $152.65 !!!
Thanks,
Karl

My experience with tall windshields has never been good. On naked bikes, they invariably increase noise. I only use a taller windshield for below freezing temperatures (and tolerate the wind roar).

Karl:
Check the http://f800riders.org forum there are some aftermarket items also being discussed there. I think a couple guys have the BMW touring one installed as well.
The guy that sponsors F800Riders also is the owner of F800Depot and sells the BMW and a couple of lower priced alternatives.

Could not get the Dakar screen. Screen is available but not the brackets!
There is a nifty higher gray screen available on factory orders only. It has a part number but is not available to dealers, at least not at this time.
Getting a different screen is a pain.

has anyone tried the Vario with the Saeng wing? It is supposed to be adjustable for different rider heights.

Cee Bailey is in the final stages of development for a wind shield to fit the new twin BMW F650/800GS.
I know this because I'm driving to their factory tomorrow to lend them my bike so that they can finalize the design and make sure it has a perfect fit.
I expect to have the new shield next week. I'll post pictures when I have it.

I worked with Mark at CALSCI to do my R1150GS, mine was the prototype, and I was happy with the results.
I sold that GS and am waiting for my 800GS and he says he will do that one as soon as he has an 800GS for a guinea pig, mine I suppose.
here is the website.

Have just ordered a TourTech windscreen. After several weeks of waiting for the BMW screen and the chill in the air - I switched strategies. It seems BMW windscreens are available but not the mounting hardware.
I did notice the taller stock screen on the F800GS seems to be a screw for screw replacement for the bikini screen on the F650GS twin.
Those mirrors are not F650 parentage.

Yeah, I discovered that as well. I'd bought a take-off screen as a spare for my F800GS, which was misrepresented on eBay by San Diego BMW Motorcycles as OEM for the F800GS or the F650GS. But it was OEM for the F650GS only. I'll put it on the Fleamarket as soon as I pick up a spare correct taller screen.

Cee Bailey is offering three different windshield styles for the new F650/800GS.
That beautiful blue F650GS that is modeling those shields is my baby and I'm hoping to get it back after Cee Bailey completes the design of the saddle for the bike. :kiss
The Sport shield looks like it would be good for off roading and riding in the twisty mountains where the Dome and Euro cut are more suited for touring. :thumb
This will be the 6th Cee Bailey windshield and headlight protector I have had on my bikes. I'm a very happ customer. :dance

About the "windshields" on the grips. What was the source of those items?
