Hi folks. I have the opportunity tu buy an R1200GS 05' that only has 700 miles. It looks like a good deal here in Mexico where taxes are to high, le price is $12,000. I saw it today and it seems that the owner had it without cover in rain and sun because the instruments looks dirt and the handle bar screws are with litte oxide.
What do you think about it? besides it doesn't have any cases, so if I make the deal I would like to know where and how to buy the Vario expandable bags and upper case.
Thanks everyone

Check to make sure it wasn't in a flood. If there is water/dirt inside the gauge covers, etc... you could have a problem. Also, if you have access to the vin#, you can check with your local dealer to see if it has had any problems.

Thanks, very much thats a good tip. I didn't think about it.
The look of the instruments is the only thing that makes me suspect about where it has been.

yes, it sounds much like "flood cars" that later materialize on the used car market. I would be VERY careful with this bike.

fwiw, a friend is looking at buying a '05 GS with ~10K miles, Jesse bags included, from a dealer in the USA, for $11,500.
