Does BMW make them? Does the OEM crash bar for the R1150GS fit the R1150R?

I've got a 2004 R1150R.

If this has been discussed before, I apologize, but I couldn't find the appropriate thread.

Thanks for any input-

R1150R Parts Fiche (http://www.maxbmwmotorcycles.com/fiche/MainDiagrams.asp?mospid=47984) lists them under the frame and fairing section, diagram 46_0727. I leave it to your pocket book to decide if they are worth it. There are a variety of after market options.

Welcome to the forum.

I had Wunderlich engine protection bars (aka crash bars, but who likes that term) on my 2004 R1150R. They were easy to install and had a dandy mounting flange for accessory lights. I dropped the bike once practicing low speed turns. (I guess I need more practice.) The bars got one little scuff and that's it. I thought it was a good investment.

for the suggestions-

I'm leaning toward the Wunderlich, after a fair amount of research.

The link to Max BMW is especially appreciated. I've been looking for a good parts source, and they've got it all. My nearest BMW dealer is over 100 miles away.
