open another window, and copy and paste the quotes you want into a reply in your first window.

So I don't use the quote function button in the first window after the first quote is done?

If you want to include multiple quotes from the same thread, click on the small button to the right of the quote button on all but the last post, then click the quote button there. You'll get what you see here.

If you just want to generically create multiple quotes, or if you want to break up one long quote in order to respond to multiple parts directly, just make sure that each quoted section is surrounded by [quote ] and [/quote ], but without the spaces I've added before the ].

Let me also add that it's worthwhile using the Preview Post button when you're quoting someone. When you double click a word or click and drag, the text editor on the forum tries to get what it thinks are "complete words". This also means that if you're selecting one punctuation character, it selects all of them that appear in a row. This can inadvertently get either the [ or the ] on the quote tags, and render them ineffective. You see this in postings all the time.

(The one gotcha with Preview Post is that it drops any attached pictures. If you're going to attach a picture, you have to use Submit Reply. Very annoying.)

I didn't know that! I've been doing it manually. Thanks Darryl!
