I have a 2005 Boxer Cup that I am thinking about lowering. Is there anyone that has done that. I have a short inseam and I have to stand on my toes when stopped. So far, I know I can put a different seat with thinner padding on it. Several people have suggested using 1100s shocks front and back, but from what year, there not all the same according to parts department people. If the shocks are changed a new strut has to be used, but which one? The kick stand also has to be changed. There are a lot of people with ideas, but as of now, no one has actually done it that I have talked to. Is there anyone out there that has actually lowered it? Is it possible or am I just wishing. I don’t want to sell the bike, but my toes are getting tired. [/SIZE]

My wife is short as well. A few years ago she took a pair of riding boots to the local repair shop and had the soles thickened. We call them her "Kiss army" boots.
If all you need is less than an inch, you could do that for about a twentieth of what lowered suspension costs, and keep your cornering clearance.

BCRs come with the short torque arm (same length as used on the GS). just swap out for a longer torque arm, as standard on any non-sport model R1100S. You can probably work out a trade, or just buy outright- much less $ than any other option.

oh yeah, you'll get all the info you could possibly want regarding R1100Ss over here... http://forums.pelicanparts.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=24

Thanks for the info. It kind of makes sense to me, but has anyone ever done it that you know of? I will join in on the other forum that you put me up to. From what I have read it looks like the place I should be.

a friend of mine has a BCPrep- same as your bike, but for the paint. i traded her my long arm for her short arm. she later put a set of Wilbers on the bike (her husband is a dealer for Wilbers, so her price was better than for most) to gain her even more ground (but she's only 5'3", so she needed more help than you). that long torque arm will get you a 1" gain. Alternatively, a frined of mine jsut bought a '99 S with only 13K miles on it. I'm sure he would be glad to exchange shocks with you. Otherwise, it would not be worth it to buy the short shocks from BMW- cost ineffective.
