I have a 2003 R1150RS.:german I am no longer a youngster and the foward leaning position gets to me on longer rides. I have barbax, but it isn't enough 'up-and-back'. :scratch I am an experienced metal fabricator and thought that I would make my own replacement handlebar. :idea I am considering another 1" up and 2" back as my first effort, which I think will allow the use of stock hoses and cables. A direct replacement for the aluminum piece, made from steel tubing and machined pad to accept the stock bolt on ends. It will be one of my winter projects.........and will be submitted to the MOA as an article of interest to RRS owners. I would like a show of hands from any RRS owners who may be interested in such an item.:dunno Thanks

As an old geezer who loves his RSL, I'd be interested to see what you come up with although I'm not yet experiencing too much discomfort with my stock bars.
I don't know of any aftermarket bars for the RS, but I seem to remember a modification using either GS or R tubular bars on the RS forum over on the Oracle website:

I can't recall who the guy was, but you might ask around on that forum and find out.
Good Luck,

Try what I did. Get the handlebar from a K75S or K75C, the one with a short straight section of tubing between tow ends bending down to meet the center section. Then, from a cycle salvage yard, get a pair of single stud handlebar mounts from a Suzuki GN250 or similar bike. Remove the stock handlebar mounts entirely. Now the tough part. Mark, and drill through the top fork bridge to accept the stud mounts from the Suzuki. Attach the Suzuki mounts to the top bridge, and install the K75S handlebar, control pods and grips. Some careful re-routing of the stock cables and wires and you have a comfortable RT like handlebar position.
I posted pictures on another thread about handlebars.
