/7 Turn Signal Mounting

Went for a ride this morning on my 78 R100S. and when I returned, the right front turn signal housing was loose on the stalk mount. When I removed the lens, I saw a saddle "strap" with two bolts holding it on. I loosened the bolts, slid it back on the stalk and tightened them back up. This did not hold the housing very securely and it's still loose.

Is there something I'm missing here?

Did you make sure the strap fit into the turnsignal stalk notch before tightening? If the bike is on the centerstand the turnsignal housing when fit properly is not exactly level.
