Just picked up a 2003 R1150R with a sport windshield. I was being pummeled by the wind as I drove it home. Any advice appreciated.

You can try the BMW touring shield it uses exactly the same mounts as the sport shield and offers a little better weather protection. I still get a lot of wind noise but feel no direct wind blast or buffeting.

I use the medium touring as stated above-mine is a Cee Baileys. Look on the www.R1150R.org forum @ the flea market there for a used one- they appear all the time and you can do WTB there as well.:) :)

I like the Parabellium. The BMW offering created too much turbulence.

I am in love with my Parabellum scout. First bike with a shield or fairing of any note. Reminds me of a R90s fairing! Winter an 18" is great, shoulder months the 14 is fine summer a 10" is great. No turbulence after I installed the Aeroflow wings, and only minor before.

The problem with asking for advice on windscreens is that everyone has a different opinion. We are different shapes and sizes, we have different helmets, we ride at different speeds on different roads, and we have different riding positions. What works for me may be terrible for you. Also, it is really difficult to do an apples-to-apples comparison on windscreens because they cost a lot of money and they are difficult to install, and some use different brackets. Finally, each windscreen is a compromise between function and looks, and we all have our preferences in this area.
That being said, you will find lots of opinions on r1150r.org, including:

Exactly!
So here's mine. Use none.
I took mine off my hack and my mileage increased six mpg.
No more turbulence either.
Your helmet should come w/ a windscreen. Utilize that.
If you want more... Sit in a car.
