Am almost in need of rear shocks for my /6. Any recommendations/stay away from opinions. These are S & W which have done well for me to now. Would appreciate any feedback. Thanks

I have been very happy with progressives for front and rear.

I had Konis on my RS and loved them. I think Koni has stopped manufacturing those shocks, but a repro is sold under the name Ikon (geddit?).

I put a set of Works Performance shocks on my R90S. I'm very happy with them. WP builds them for your weight and riding style and they're rebuildable.

Well except for Ohlins that seems to cover the lot. Apparently I can't go wrong with any of the major brands. No one mentioned stock BMW parts. Thanks for the info. Russ

on my R100RS. I went from old, stock BMW shocks that were pretty much shot. They work well, and from those that have seen them, say they are virtually identical to the old KONI's.

They have preload and damping adjustments. Made all the difference in the world.

Thanks for the response .
the Ikons seem to have won out. Called Eurotech to order a pair and was told that Bobs had exclusive right to selling them in the States. Called Bob's BMW and was told that they had none in stock but were expecting a shipment any day and the price is about $ 335 plus $ 12-15 S@H. I have a personality glitch -read cheap- about spending that kind of money although have purchased a lot of goods from that shop and always satisfied. So I called Dennis Kirk Co. and spoke with them about a set of Progressives which are the current ones on the bike. For $ 244 and change ordered a set and that includes $ S@ H since the order is over a hundred bucks. By the way according to the guys at Eurotech their rebuild kits for the Ikons do not adapt to the pre 91 Koni shocks. So while I am at this does anyone know of a rebuild shop for my old Konis. Thanks, Russ

But I paid $286 last year, can't remember how much S&H. Ordered them online, got them within a few days. Very pleased.

I've heard good things about Progressive, I don't think you could go wrong.
