Well, so many folks made so many nice suggestions I want to report back on my recent trip up to the Blue Ridge parkway.
Left Florida and took 19 north into Georgia, then east on GA70 (? I think) through Macon, then 129 north through Athens. Took 80 east to 25, and 25 north to Asheville. Rendezvoused with a Michigan friend who drove down and them we headed north on the parkway.
We used the Alpine Inn as our base and what a lovely place!! Can't say enough nice things about Ron and Sue and the location. Just great!!
We spent two days cruising north on the parkway, then we had to head for home. Mike went north into Kentucky and I headed back to Tampa/St. Pete - modified the route at the suggestion of a friend who told me to take SC11 (the Cherokee Foothills parkway) going west from NC25. Took that until it intersected I-85 and went a short hop in I-85 until 441 south - took that through Athens and Macon, then 70 west until I hit 19, then 19 south all the way.
Terrific trip, bike ran like a robot. I put 15 hours in the saddle on the way back home and I felt great. What a nice trip and what a great bike the K75!
