I purchased a 2005 R1200ST a few months back and am interested in modifying the ridding position. I would like to put handlebar risers on the bike and possibly lowering the foot pegs to uprights my body while riding.

I've found a set of risers and pegs from Creative Concept (www.creativecycleconcepts.com). The handle bar risers work by extending the fork tube through the tripple tree and attaching the handlebars above the tripple tree rather than below as in the stock set up. Seems different but brings the handle bars up about 2-1/2 inches.

In looking at the peg set it seems the pegs go down about 1-1/2 inches and the shifter/brake remains in the same position. Not sure if these components need to be modified also.

Does anyone have any recommendation for this bike to raise the handle bars and lower the pegs. I would appreciate the feedback.

Mike, your link is slightly broken (you managed to catch the closing parenthesis in your link). http://www.creativecycleconcepts.com/ works better.

The bar risers shown here (http://www.mv-motorrad.de/lshop,showdetail,9875,e,1218984485-10084,001.1115645110,901425,,Tshowrub--001.1115645110,.htm) are from Verholen in Germany. When I got mine, I ordered directly from Verholen, the savings were worthwhile. I'm not so sure that there's a big difference anymore.

I'm very pleased with the bar risers. I've been riding the oilhead RS bikes, and the bar risers give you a slightly more leaned forward position than that. For me, they are very comfortable (5'9", inseam of 30").

Although you've got an earlier ST with the whizzy brakes, it's worth noting that on the 2007 bikes with non-power brakes, the casting under the master cylinder slightly interferes with the instrument cluster, when the bar risers are installed. The casting just needs a slight shave to clear the dash.
