My '03 RT was working fine on my way to the doctor the other day when the battery discharge light came on. I tried to get it home on the battery but didn't quite make it. With the help of a Harley owner and a Honda owner I did get it home. I assumed that the battery had gone bad but subsequent analysis points to a good (lead acid) battery and a charging system problem. I am not a good electrical person and don't even own a DVM. Before I get the beast to my dealer, is there some simple "no brainer" problem/fix common to the model? like a connection that habitually comes loose?

J Diaz hit the nail on the head. Catastrophic failure of alternator belt.
Guess I was thinking something more exotic, what with all the highfalutin' electronical gizmos on this puppy.

You over stressed it on track day.
