Why does my left saddlebag on my '08 GSA feel like a convection oven?

Probably because it is next to the exhaust. :D

So no one has a potentially stolen GSA Saddlebag to sell? :p

I met this gentleman at the RA Rally in Michigan back in June. One of the products he was selling was a set exhaust pipe extensions for the R1200 GS. He said they made a substantial difference in the left saddlebag temperature. I have no personal experience dealing with him or his products, but it may be worth looking into.

You could put some of this stuff (or something similar) on your bag:

I have a big roll of that stuff. PM me and I'll send you some for less than JCW.

My solution:

Store all heat-sensitive items in the right-hand saddlebag.

Works like a charm.

Seems it would be handy for drying wet riding gear.. :bolt

Or pooching it.:eat

Just thought of something, put your wet gear in the bottom, then rap some salmon w/oinion, butter, garlic, and dill in tinfoil, through it on top of the wet gear, then 1 1/2 hours down the road, a hot meal.:buds

Crap, now I need to go make a snack!

:dance :dance Besides suggesting marshmallows and Hershey bars for s'mores, BMW says they are working on this problem, thanks for the suggestions.

After using system bags on my 02 GS, I didn't think that the new GSA left bag would be different than the right side. I learned the hard way. Never carry ice cream in the left side bag after going to the store!

He makes quality stuff. The exh shields are on my wife's GS and they do the trick.
