Made in China?

I heard someone say that the new F800GS is manufactured in China. Is that myth or the truth? I read a few articles on the bike the last couple of months and I don't remember that fact being mentioned. I have one on order and it won't affect my purchase but I was just wondering.

Any insight would be appreciated.

The G series engines are being built in Taiwan, by Kymco. The F800 engine is made in Austria by Rotax. All bikes are assembled in Germany.

Myth. The F 800 GS is not made in China. That is not to say like any other manufacturer they have parts or in the future may have parts made in China but the F 800 GS is not made in China

The motor for the G 450 X is contracted out to KYMCO (http://www.kymco.com/) and that is where this rumor about the F started.
