it just started.when i downshift with rear brake applied,i get a chirp sound.downshifting without using rear brake is smooth and without the chirp.there is a rear drum brake setup on this R60/5,i figured i'd ask for advice before i lay into it.regards to all.brian.:doh

When you downshift, the engine RPM's will be going faster. As such, you should give it a little gas to bring the RPM's up. This will make for smoother shifting, and put less stress on the driveline.
