Has this happened to any of you???
Today I put on the new MAC headers for my 78 R100. I should say I tried to. The right header has a bend at the end which sends my muffler (also a MAC) skyward. While this might be very "ninties", it's not what I was looking for.
The left head-pipe BTW seems to be correct. I've emailed MAC asking what their policy is on this. They list no phone number on their website, but they may be located in Canada. In the interim, I'm putting back my 26-year old head-pipes which - while grungy -still work fine.

Maybe your bike needs a '"TomMac" exhaust to work correctly. :)

Tom, just carry the header over to a muffler shop and have them straighten the end. Bring the other side along so they have something to compare it to. It'll be cheaper and way quicker in the long run by the time you deal with the mfgr.

Are you talking about the Mac two into one system? If so, I just put a set on my 82 and they fit perfectly. No instructions were included so it took a bit of fooling around to get all of the parts assembled properly. If this is your case, maybe the pieces are not in the correct position. geoff

Jon -- HaHa TomMac system indeed. That's what it had on it...a 26 year old system with a left muffler rewelded. I'm going to give it another shot later this week. I was trying to pull the old system off and put the new one on in an hour before work on Friday.
Geoff, no I've got the 2 into 2 system.

Also -- Jon, how's the wife and child???

They're doing good, thanks for asking. Here they are checking out a sidecar at the Northern Illinois Sidecarists Campout at Pontiac yesterday.

Jon, nice pic of Sue and the bean (who's name I can't remember -- sorry)
Had I remembered that was going on, I might have ridden over.
Peoria TT was yesterday, so I would have had some decision making to do, though.

Howdy Folks,
Anybody know where a fellow might find a nice 2 into 1 system for an R100? I'm not having much luck finding one.

Thanks in advance,
Pat Patrick
