I've been riding a BMW for 6 years now, my first was an R1100RT and I upgraded to a 2003 R1150RS, it's been a love affair since day one! However I find myself touring more and more traveling upwards of 300 miles a day and my A#$ is killing me, not to mention with the slope of the seat I keep sliding towards my gas tank. I've taken it upon my self to search out all the custom seat manufacturers; Corbin, Bill Mayer, Cee Bailey, Sargent and a couple others. They all seem great, perhaps a tad over my budget but am willing to bite the bullet. I ask any of you RS riders is it possible to make some modifications to the seat pan elevating the front to inhibit the sliding forward and/or who do you suggest as a custom seat manufacturer?

Thanks in Advance for your help.

Oh by the way I have body panels for this 2003 RS for sale as I had the European version shipped from Ireland...love this bike!

I'm slightly embarrassed, I just saw another thread matching my topic...seat modification is what I'm more interested in, or a recommendation as to who's the best custom seat manufacturer... thanx again

I also have an '03 RS. I always thought it would look a lot better with the lower fairing parts. Why are yours for sale?

If you have a spare 5-600 dollars check Rick Mayer Saddles or Bill (Rocky) Mayer Saddles (brothers, somewhat estranged). Both customize to your weight, riding position, etc. and both have great reputations.

I get a bit tired of typing similar responses to this in different threads. Visit this other posting of mine to read about my experiences with Rick Mayer seats (http://www.bmwmoa.org/forum/showpost.php?p=351778&postcount=13).

Over on the Porsche Rennlist site (which is generally quite friendly), you get flamed if you ask a question without first doing a search.

I prefer the more tolerant approach on this board, and in any event, the same topics seem to roll over every few months. There are only so many topics about certain brands of machines.
