This is my first new bike. I was quoted a price of $250 for the 600 mile service. Does anyone know exactly what they do. I know they change the oil and filter and check the fluids. I typically do all the mechanical work myself but since this is a new bike, I thought i bring it in for service. But $250 just sounds too steep. Any advice?

Chasi1,
Welcome aboard! Doesn't the service manual (owner's manual-sized, in the little plastic case in the rear compartment) list the components of the 600 mile service?

Couple a things:
Change oil and filter
torque heads and adjust valves
check everything.
Break open a Becks, listen to Beethoven Piano Concerto #5, sit on milk crate, and run dual feelers thru both valves. Thats why it is a Beemer and not a HD. From now on you and the scooter are one. Ride safe.
