After seeing the reports posted on Adv Rider, there probably just isn't too much left to say...

Yep. Sure did. Ran into some MOA folks, that's for sure.

Here's a certain blonde girl following me down I80, on the way to Auburn.

This was pretty much party central for the weekend. Slaniac brought up a whole bunch of beer, which we all consumed. I don't think there was a six pack left by Monday morning. We done good.

Er, ah, what's all this? A turbocharged and intercooled Mazda rotary motor making 300hp?!!!

We had the usual collection of motorcycles. The GS seems to be fairly popular out here in the Big West.

fish was there, of course. It's always fun to knock back a couple of SNPAs with my Farallon Island friend.

Hiya fish!

The weather? Well, let's just say the weather didn't suck.

Not one little bit.

Hey Gerg, wake up. We went for dinner at the Mexican joint in town. Great food, that's for sure. Tina had a margarita. Woo!

We had lots of digital cameras too. Here, me, fish and the mayor or Santa Barbara take our picture(s).

Or something.

kbasa

Oh yeah. And we had more bikes and stuff too.

And then, after dinner, we had to hang around and get rid of more of that evil demon alchohol some more. Rockin Robin and Motor Mike brought their bar.

We don't care how you do it elsewhere. This is how you do it in the Sierras.

That's GSMullins over there on the left, Tina standing, Deuce in the green shirt and Gerg with the hat on facing away.

After a while, we played the "flaming shots of Sambuca game".

Oh boy.

rlovingjr demonstrates how.

This probably doesn't look too good does it? I mean, here I am putting up this trip report and so far, it's all been about partying.

Well, that's what we did. At least on Friday night.

Saturday, we went on the Poker Run and suffered through some of the awful roads we have here in California. They're horrible. Stay away. California is bad. Bad weather. Bad roads. Miserable people. No beer. Ugly wimmen.

Miserable roads and bad scenery, I tell ya. Stay away.

And look at the people you have to contend with.

Anyway, we managed to stay dry and not get all bummed out because of the bad roads and stuff and made it back for bread an water for dinner. As you can see, Rhys and Greg could hardly manage to force the stuff down. I almost had to go back for seconds it was so bad.

And MrsKbasa had chocolate cake.

And Sam Buca had some aftermath from the flaming sambuca shots. He burned his lip. He used to be called aker, but now he's Sam Buca since he brought the stuff.

Ricardo Kuhn was there installing Ricky Bars all weekend. He seemed busy and happy. He also ran the English Trials, which were awesome.

Sunday was English Trials. Think of doing trials on a GS. That's what it was. Beats the heck out of a weenie bite contest.

Garsh...nice job, kbasa. I'm not sure there's too much I can add. It was a great time with beer, motorcycles, friends, beer, camping, beer, food, and beer. :thumb

That new 12GS of kbasa's makes an excellent beer coaster.

For such an unruly group, we sure had good parking manners, huh? :p

Digicams were everywhere...

Who needs an expensive tankbag, when you've got duct tape?

Who needs a sidestand, when you've got big rocks nearby?

When drinking beer, it's important to wear all the gear all the time (ATGATT).

As usual, the Concours d'Everybody drew out a bunch of nice looking bikes, including the RT of your's truly (I have no idea why, but it was there).

One of the highlights of the rally was the poker run, which ran us through some spectacular backroads and single-lane twisties.

Overall, everyone had a great time. Well done, Norcal BMW!

so i was being a weasel. i love the contrast of this site to the advrider site, and i wanted to see how the same event would be represented on both boards.

what i like about it is how it's like this is the sedate, mature, grown-up board, and advrider is the board with our friends. let me explain...

i go out with my friends, we drink, we do all sorts of insane stuff all weekend. when i get to work monday, a peer asks how it was. i tell all, we laugh, it's crazy etc. then later i talk to my mom and she asks how the weekend was. i say, 'oh it was fun. we had a few beers and camped. there was great scenery and good weather.' and i leave out all the really wild stuff. like R vs PG i guess.

different norms on each board, it's fun to see how people interact differently.

Well, i certainly had a great time and i didn't drink,
fall down or smoke cigars...but i wanted to :)

You can find some more pix here (http://ian408.smugmug.com/gallery/128528).
