Photos from the Rally

[PAULBACH]

Just started to download over 1600 photos taken by the web team photographers. It would take four DVDs to hold them all.

Will be putting them up today and tomorrow. There is a lot of labeling and sorting to do. Managed to get up a few pictures while at the Rally and when on the road. Looks like Ian got a few up as did OUTBACKUFO.

Many thanks to a fine group of photographers that worked from early in the morning until late at night. Wish we could have gotten up some while at the rally but facilities were ... limited. One morning the team worked out of the auditorium lobby at the Heritage Theater and a potted plant fell on computers.

Boxer #4 BOXER will have to explain this one! I just rolled in this afternoon from my four day ride home to Atlanta. My worst experience of this rally was when I ran over my prescription bifocals 45 miles from Gillette on Wednesday afternoon.

The team took over 1700 photos. We meet in empty seminar rooms, auditorium lobbies and wherever there was space. Early on we had to make a choice between taking pictures or uploading photos.

The team took the pictures and uploading their shots had to wait. In order to get the shots the team covered a lot of ground and missed some of their favorite seminars.

Thanks to all who when way beyond the call of volunteer duty. :clap

This includes all equipment inside the tents. Took 6 hours and 6 local labor bodies and working my own butt off.


Truck and trailer that carries it all at a whopping average 6.5 mpg. Fuel set me back roughly $3k.

The one awning is set up, other five ready to go up that provided 1,200 sqft of shade. That one strong storm actually broke a couple external trusses on the one that is erected in the picture, but it was able to hold itself together long enough to get me through the event.

That's 1,700 CDs. The shear weight of the images required the use of an 18 wheeler to carry the latent images. :blah

Quality before quantity... i like to think.... with the digital age of cameras of bad images never make more than a few seconds on the LCD screen before a new better image is taken... :stick
