I'm unlowing a '97 F650ST. I have all the parts. The fiche for the original lowering kit shows a split collar that was to limit the travel of the shock on a lowered bike. I have a somewhat ignorant question. I have the shock removed from the bike and see no evidence of the travel limiting spacer.
So, with the shock in my hand from an otherwise lowered bike, should I be able to see it, or is it up inside the assembly somewhere, only to be exposed after disassembly while on a spring compressor?
