No; this does not belong in the Airhead forum. It just happens to involve one; no, two. I know mine is 30 years old. I think the female one driving the truck is younger.

On my way back from lunch today, I am about even with (and overtaking) the bed of a crew cab Dodge Ram when the airhead driving it decides to move into my lane (left of two eastbound) just short of a red light. I can see I've got room to react and there's space opening on my left as a left turn lane, so I stay beside the cab. The Good News©? All their windows are open. More Good News©? The RS has those DAMN LOUD Fiamm horns. :thumb So I hit 'em and watch the hilarity of the four blonde heads in the cab instantly swiveling around toward me.

Driver Airhead: "Uh ... I thought you were in that lane."

Rider Airhead (me): "Well, I am now. Because you moved into my lane."

Driver Airhead: "Well, ah, I didn't see you."

Rider Airhead thought balloon: "Yeah; obviously."

Meanwhile, she's still inching forward, but there's room for me behind the next car ahead of her, so I roll a bit sideways into it and give her some exhaust to suck on as the light changes. Airheads ... go figure. :huh

Even though I prefer a completely stock bike - for the sake of aesthetics - I think I'm ready for those horns. Thanks for the story.

+1 on Fiamm horns. I have them on my 100GS and they'll blow small animals off the road.

Gotta love those Fiamm's. They've woken up a few drivers when I've been commuting.

Yesterday there was a delivery truck (non-semi) that dang near ran me off the road, no matter how much I laid on the horn. Oh, by the way, he saw me, he was looking right at me. And he didn't care.

It's one thing to have a cage not bother to look (that's an airhead move), it's a whole 'nuther thing to have a cage fully understand that, since you're on a motorcycle, you're going to lose the contest of "who gets the lane" (that's an a**hole move).

A.) They're hidden by the fairing.

B.) They're stock on the RS.

I would get the company name and call to speak with a manager/owner if possible and describe that situation with him. If you have the licence number or truck ID number, they can track the driver. I wouldn't want that idiot driving one of my company trucks, too big a liability.
