it's nearly 3 am,

i ain't all for those "road songs" i like my music on my motorcycle the same as i like it getting on the subway or walking down the street.

from my favorite black flag album:

jumping into the seat of my car my pants are on fire ...my briefs... I was lying just to save my skin pushing on the accelerator how am I gonna tell her I'm into love and passion ...action driving you ride shotgun trying to find us some fun break the rules from under the gun kissing ass isn't my idea of fun driving but I'm really driven confined to the rules I've been given How can I find my course When I see my problems and society is the source No It's crazy but it's true when... nothing can stop you just got to do what you've got to do Music fantasies of lies selling up high in the sky but all we want to do is get down there's got to be a turnaround television selling... from the lost souls consuming what they're told taking their money leaving them cold minds dead before they're old thinking of the heartaches the love I missed all the pain it started with a kiss how much longer can I wait How much longer can I put up with this? Society's tease Is society's disease but all the girls locked up is not what we need Society's tease Is society's disease but all of us locked up is not what we need driving right into a ditch another hole, another bitch feeling like I want to kill or kiss but I don't know which ...another woman another whore you're hooked, you want more driving to the candy store but always asking "what for" always wherever I go Playing some stupid role sometimes I look at the world and I just want to say, "noooo!" Somewhere something went wrong where love plays stupid tricks where good and evil mix but i've got a plan the world will finally be saved... Society's tease Is society's disease but all the girls locked up is not what we need Society's tease Is society's disease but all of us locked up is not what we need

nothing about motorcycles, nothing about the "open road", that song just has a killer guitar track, totally noodley. music isn't always about the lyrics, but sometimes it is about what gets you to work on time............

Are you goin to scarborough fair? parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme
Remember me to one who lives there, she once was a true love of mine

Tell her to make me a cambric shirt, parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme
Without no seams nor needlework, then shell be a true love of mine

Tell her to find me an acre of land, parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme
Between the salt water and the sea strand, then shell be a true love of mine

Tell her to reap it in a sickle of leather, parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme
And to gather it all in a bunch of heather, then shell be a true love of mine

Are you goin to scarborough fair? parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme
Remember me to one who lives there, she once was a true love of mine

" Put some Drive in your Country" by Travis Tritt.

"Every time I hear that Outlaw stuff... on my car radio... It makes me want to drive it just as fast as it will go..."

That one got me a ticket once. Ooops :brow

I sing this to the Ducati while we're on the road...

With you I can spend
the time with delight.
In life everything is folly
which does not bring pleasure.
Let us be happy, fleeting and rapid
is the delight of love;
it is a flower which blooms and dies,
which can no longer be enjoyed.
Let us be happy, fervent
and enticing words summon us.

From the Brindisi quartet in Verdi's (Italian) opera La Traviata

I can do Wagner when I'm on the BMW. Someting from The Ring

Aw, fergawdsakes, NO! OK; maybe if you're riding a /2 or older. But with anything like The RS That Won't Go Less Than Seventy, you need something to keep your blood pumping:

Little Sister by the record machine
A tiny dancer such a sweet sixteen
She's goin' out she's gonna party tonight
She's gonna shake and make it last all night.

Little brother's got a drivin' machine
A fast driver such a clean machine
They're going out they're gonna put out the lights
They gonna rock it, rock it, rock it ...

You can still rock in America
Ah yeah s'alright
You can still rock in America
Ah yeah all night
You can still rock in America

Little sister makes a move for the door
The door squeaks she's on the second floor
Her daddy wakes "Is everything OK?"
Not a sound as she makes her getaway

Little brother's got it ready to roll
Tires burning as they head for the show
Light it up and turn the music up loud
And Rock it rock it rock it

You can still rock in America
Ah yeah s'alright
You can still rock in America
Ah yeah all night
You can still rock in America

Rock In America (you can still)
Rock In America (rock in America)
Rock In America (Yeah you can still)
Rock In America

You can still rock in America
Ah yeah s'alright
You can still rock in America
Ah yeah all night
You can still rock in America
You can still rock in America
Well you can still rock in America

King's Lead Hat
by Brian Eno

Dark alley (dark alley) black star
Four turkeys in a big black car
The road is shiny (bright shine) the wheels slide
Four turkeys going for a dangerous ride
The lacquer crackles (black tar) the engines roar
A ship was turning broadside to the shore
Splish splash I was raking in the cash
The biology of purpose keeps my nose above the surface (OOH)
King's lead hat put the innocence inside her, it will come, it will come, it will surely come
King's lead hat was a mother to desire, it will come, it will come, it will surely come

In New Delhi (smelly Delhi) and Hong Kong
They all know that it won't be long
I count my fingers (digit counter) as night falls
And draw bananas on the bathroom walls
The killer cycles (humdrum) the killer hertz
The passage of my life is measured out in shirts
Time and motion (motion carried) time and tide
All I know and all I have is time and time and tide is on my side
King's lead hat put the poker in the fire, it will come, it will come, it will surely come
King's lead hat was a mother to desire, it will come, it will come, it will surely come

The weapon's ready (ready Freddy) the guns purr
The satellite distorts his voice to a slur
He gives orders (finger pie) which no one hears
The king's hat fits over their ears
He takes his modicate (indecipherable) cold turpentine
He tries to dial out 999999999
He dials reception (moving finger) he's all alone
He's just a victim of the telephone
King's lead hat made the Amazon much wider, it will come, it will come, it will surely come
King's lead hat put the poker in the fire, it will come, it will come, it will surely come
King's lead hat was a mother to desire, it will come, it will come, it will surely come
King's lead hat put the innocence inside her, it will come, it will come, it will surely come
King's lead hat was a hammer to desire, it will come, it will come, it will surely come.

The Distance - Cake
Reluctantly crouched at the starting line,
Engines pumping and thumping in time.
The green light flashes, the flags go up.
Churning and burning, they yearn for the cup.
They deftly maneuver and muscle for rank,
Fuel burning fast on an empty tank.
Reckless and wild, they pour through the turns.
Their prowess is potent and secretly stearn.
As they speed through the finish, the flags go down.
The fans get up and they get out of town.
The arena is empty except for one man,
Still driving and striving as fast as he can.
The sun has gone down and the moon has come up,
And long ago somebody left with the cup.
But he's driving and striving and hugging the turns.
And thinking of someone for whom he still burns.

He's going the distance.
He's going for speed.
She's all alone
In her time of need.
Because he's racing and pacing and plotting the course,
He's fighting and biting and riding on his horse,
He's going the distance.

No trophy, no flowers, no flashbulbs, no wine,
He's haunted by something he cannot define.
Bowel-shaking earthquakes of doubt and remorse,
Assail him, impale him with monster-truck force.
In his mind, he's still driving, still making the grade.
She's hoping in time that her memories will fade.
Cause he's racing and pacing and plotting the course,
He's fighting and biting and riding on his horse.
The sun has gone down and the moon has come up,
And long ago somebody left with the cup.
But he's striving and driving and hugging the turns.
And thinking of someone for whom he still burns.

Cause he's going the distance.
He's going for speed.
She's all alone
In her time of need.
Because he's racing and pacing and plotting the course,
He's fighting and biting and riding on his horse.
He's racing and pacing and plotting the course,
He's fighting and biting and riding on his horse.
He's going the distance.
He's going for speed.
He's going the distance.

Ah, yup. That would be me. Not a huge fan, though. I am really a bigger fan of The Who, Queen, Boston, Patty Smyth, Mott, Ian Hunter, and a handful of others. But for some reason, this song always comes into my head when I ride. I have thought about getting some good earbuds to quash it with MP3s ... :groovy
